PlayStation 5 Slim (Disc Edition): eBay vs Amazon price

About the PlayStation 5 Slim (Disc Edition)

The PS5 Slim replaced the original PlayStation 5 in late 2023. It is smaller and lighter, storage grew to 1TB, and the Ultra HD Blu-ray drive became a detachable module. The Disc Edition ships with that drive attached, so it plays physical games and 4K movies straight out of the box.

Console prices behave differently from phone prices. Sony raised the PS5's US price in 2025, which kept used values firm, and holiday bundles are often the cheapest way to buy one new. Used Slims on eBay usually sell at a modest discount. A listing that adds an extra controller or a few games can be the better value, as long as the console itself checks out.

Where the savings are

A used PS5 Slim only makes sense when the discount is real, because a new one comes with a warranty and the gap is often small. Bundles are the wild card: an eBay listing with two controllers and some games can beat Amazon's console-only price. Make sure the disc drive is included and working. Controller drift and fan noise are the most common complaints on used units.
