Sony Alpha 7 IV (Body Only): eBay vs Amazon price

About the Sony Alpha 7 IV (Body Only)

The Sony Alpha 7 IV, model ILCE-7M4, was announced in October 2021. It has a 33MP full-frame sensor, the BIONZ XR processor, real-time eye autofocus for people, animals and birds, and five-axis in-body stabilization. Video goes up to 4K 60p in Super 35 mode with 10-bit recording, and one of its two card slots also accepts CFexpress Type A.

It became the default full-frame body for many wedding photographers, YouTubers and enthusiasts, so the used supply is huge. Sony introduced the Alpha 7 V in late 2025, which nudged a7 IV prices lower. Used bodies with low shutter counts sell quickly, and refurbished units from authorized sellers turn up regularly as well.

Where the savings are

Buying used makes a lot of sense here, because the body is durable and widely available. Ask for the shutter count and check the sensor for scratches. Gray-market imports are common on eBay and may lack Sony USA warranty coverage. Compare against Amazon's body-only price, since kits with the 28-70mm lens are listed separately and cost more. A worn grip or port cover is cheap to replace.
