Canon EOS R50 with RF-S 18-45mm Lens: eBay vs Amazon price

About the Canon EOS R50 with RF-S 18-45mm Lens

The EOS R50 is Canon's compact entry-level mirrorless camera, launched in early 2023. It has a 24.2MP APS-C sensor, Dual Pixel autofocus with subject detection, a fully articulating touchscreen and uncropped 4K video at up to 30fps. The kit pairs it with the RF-S 18-45mm, a small retracting zoom that keeps the whole package light.

Beginners, vloggers and parents buy it as a step up from a phone, and plenty of them sell it a year or two later. That keeps eBay stocked with used kits, many with low shutter counts. Canon's refurbished store and Amazon sales put pressure on used prices from both sides. The later R50 V, a video-focused version without a viewfinder, adds one more option.

Where the savings are

Used often pays off with this camera, because many owners barely shoot with it. Ask for the shutter count and look for kits that include the original battery and charger. Make sure the listing is the kit with the 18-45mm lens and not the body alone. Gray-market imports may lack a Canon USA warranty, so read the seller's description before comparing prices.
