Fujifilm X100VI: eBay vs Amazon price

About the Fujifilm X100VI

The X100VI is the sixth generation of Fujifilm's fixed-lens compact, announced in February 2024. It pairs a 40.2MP APS-C sensor with a 23mm f/2 lens, which gives a classic 35mm-equivalent view. It is the first X100 model with in-body image stabilization, and it keeps the series' hybrid optical and electronic viewfinder along with Fujifilm's film simulations.

Few cameras have had a stranger price history. Social media buzz kept it sold out for long stretches, and resellers routinely listed it above list price. Supply has improved, but used prices have stayed unusually close to new, and sometimes above it. This is one product where a new unit at list price from Amazon or an authorized dealer is often the best deal.

Where the savings are

Start with list price as your benchmark. Any used X100VI priced above a new one from an authorized seller is a bad deal. On eBay, check whether a camera is a US unit with Fujifilm USA warranty or a gray-market import. Silver and black have sold at different prices at times. Accessories like the lens hood, adapter ring and thumb grip are common extras worth counting.
