iPhone 16 (128GB): eBay vs Amazon price

About the iPhone 16 (128GB)

The iPhone 16 is Apple's standard 6.1-inch model from fall 2024. It runs on the A18 chip, supports Apple Intelligence, and added two physical controls: the Action button on the left and Camera Control on the right. The 128GB version is the one most people buy, and it is the configuration you see most often on resale sites.

Apple kept selling the iPhone 16 after the iPhone 17 arrived in 2025, so new units are still easy to find, often through carrier deals. Used prices tend to dip in the weeks after each September launch, when upgraders list their old phones. Unlocked phones with high battery health hold value best. Carrier-locked units and anything with a replaced screen trade at a clear discount.

Where the savings are

New iPhone 16 listings on Amazon are usually tied to a carrier plan, so read the listing before comparing it with an unlocked phone. On eBay, the best value tends to be refurbished or used unlocked phones with battery health above 90 percent. Carrier-locked phones cost less but limit which networks you can use. Color barely moves the price. Storage, lock status and cosmetic grade do.
