Garmin Forerunner 265 (46mm): eBay vs Amazon price

About the Garmin Forerunner 265 (46mm)

Garmin launched the Forerunner 265 in March 2023 as the first mid-range Forerunner with an AMOLED screen. It has multiband GPS, a touchscreen alongside the usual five buttons, onboard music storage and Garmin's training tools, including Training Readiness and HRV Status. Battery life runs up to 13 days in smartwatch mode. This page tracks the 46mm 265; the 42mm 265S is a separate model.

Runners tend to keep a watch for years and then sell it when they move up, so many used 265s on eBay come from serious users. Garmin hardware is tough, and Amazon has cut the new price sharply at times, which keeps used prices in check. Bands and chargers are cheap to replace. A scratched screen is not.

Where the savings are

Garmin watches survive years of training, so a clean used 265 can be a good deal. Compare it with Amazon's sale price first, since discounts on new units have been deep. Ask the seller to remove the watch from Garmin Connect before shipping. Check that it is the 265 and not the 265S, which has a smaller case and a bit less battery life.
