About the Apple Watch Series 10 (42mm, GPS)

The Apple Watch Series 10 arrived in September 2024 with the thinnest case Apple had made and a larger wide-angle OLED display that is easier to read at an angle. It charges faster than the Series 9, adds a depth gauge and water temperature sensor, and supports sleep apnea notifications. The 42mm GPS aluminum model is the entry configuration.

Apple replaced it with the Series 11 in 2025, so new Series 10 stock is now mostly leftover inventory. Apple Watches hold value fairly well for two or three years, but battery health and Activation Lock are what sink a bad used purchase. Aluminum cases scratch more easily than titanium ones, and eBay listings vary a lot in cosmetic grade.

Where the savings are

Clearance prices on new Series 10 stock can be very competitive, so check Amazon before buying used. On eBay, the biggest risk is Activation Lock, which makes a watch useless to anyone but the original owner. Battery health is shown in the watch's settings, and anything under 85 percent should cost less. Case size and material matter more to resale value than band color.
