About the AirPods Pro 2 (USB-C)
AirPods Pro 2 first came out in 2022, and in September 2023 Apple switched the charging case to USB-C. That USB-C version is the one tracked here. It uses the H2 chip for noise canceling and Adaptive Audio, and a 2024 software update added hearing health features, including a hearing aid mode in the US. The case has a built-in speaker for Find My and a lanyard loop.
Apple replaced them with AirPods Pro 3 in 2025, and AirPods Pro 2 had long been a regular Amazon discount item. Both facts push used prices down. The catch with secondhand earbuds is battery wear and counterfeits. Fake AirPods are common on resale sites, so a seller's history and return policy matter as much as the price.
Where the savings are
Earbuds are a category where new often wins, because Amazon sales on AirPods Pro 2 have been frequent and a fresh battery matters. If you buy on eBay, a refurbished set with new ear tips is safer than a used pair. Check the serial number with Apple's coverage lookup, and be wary of prices far below everyone else's. Sets with the older Lightning case are worth less.

Questions
How can I spot fake AirPods Pro 2?
Check the serial number with Apple's warranty lookup, watch for the pairing animation on an iPhone, and confirm the case speaker plays a sound through Find My. A price far below the market is the biggest warning sign.
Do AirPods Pro 2 work with Android phones?
They connect over Bluetooth and play audio, but features like automatic switching, Adaptive Audio controls and the hearing tools need an Apple device.
